Bullying and its harmful effects in schools

Narrator :
Bullying. A word we've all heard, yet the pain behind it often remains invisible. In schools, online, in hallways bullying takes many forms. But what causes it ? And what are the lasting effects on those involved ?
Today, we take you inside the reality of bullying with the help of a psychologist, a former bully, and a survivor to understand what's really happening behind the scenes… and what we can all do to stop it.

To begin, we'll hear from a psychologist to better understand the roots and effects of bullying.

Interviewer :
What is bullying, and how does it affect students ?

Psychologist :
Bullying is repeated, aggressive behavior involving a power imbalance it can be physical, verbal, or online. It affects mental health deeply : causing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and even suicidal thoughts.

Interviewer :
Why do some children become bullies ?

Psychologist :
Some are copying behavior from home or media, others are hurting themselves and don't know how to cope so they take it out on others.

Narrator :
Understanding the psychology of bullying is crucial but nothing speaks louder than the voices of those who've lived through it.
Next, we'll hear from a former bully who shares their personal story and the lessons they learned.

Interviewer :
Why did you bully someone ?

Bully :
I thought it was just joking, but it hurt them. I was dealing with problems at home and didn't know how to handle it.

Interviewer :
Do you regret it ?

Bully :
Yes, deeply. I apologized. I learned that bullying doesn't fix your problems it only creates more.

Narrator :
Now, we meet someone who experienced bullying firsthand a victim who found the strength to recover.

Interviewer :
What was your experience as a victim ?

Victim :
I was bullied for how I looked. It destroyed my confidence. I didn't want to go to school anymore.

Interviewer :
What helped you recover ?

Victim :
A teacher finally noticed. I got support from a counselor, and slowly, I found my voice again.

Narrator :
Bullying is not just kids being kids. It's a real problem, with real consequences. But there is hope. By listening, supporting, and taking action, we can all be part of the solution.
If you see bullying speak up. If you feel alone reach out. Because no one should ever suffer in silence.

Le reportage - 2ème partie

Cette deuxième partie du module reportage est dédiée à la réalisation finale des productions, sous forme de podcast.

Dans un premier temps, les élèves devront monter les extraits d'interview à insérer dans le reportage.
Puis, ils rédigeront le texte, en prévoyant les moments où sont insérés les extraits des interviews.
Ensuite, ils enregistreront le texte, avant d'insérer les extraits d'interviews et d'éventuels bruitatges).
Enfin, ils mixeront éventuellement l'ensemble avec des sons d'ambiance.

Ce module est en deux parties :
Pour cette 1ère étape, les élèves, répartis en groupes, devront choisir un reportage, justifier son intérêt, se documenter, et déterminer un ou des interlocuteurs à interviewer pour illustrer leur reportage.
Dans la documentation, vous trouverez une fiche reportage à remplir par les élèves. Vous la posterez sur la plateforme avant la prochaine visio, prévue vendredi 25 avril à 18h (Paris).
